| | I am a Norwegian national educated in Norway, the United
Kingdom, Italy and the United States. I have a Bachelors of Science
degree in management from UMIST and a Master in Business Administration from
SDA Bocconi and Kellogg Graduate School of Management. I have more than 15
years experience as a project manager, administrator, and strategist from
the private and public sector. After an initial career in the film sector as
a marketer and editor, I moved into the stock photography sector and worked
on major codification and e-commerce projects for a leading global image
house, Getty Images, and was listed as a US Patent inventor on a method and
system for classification & searching for content. I also worked as a
programme manager in the field of business continuity and disaster recovery
before accepting an offer with the United Nations. I am currently working
for the Property Management Unit at the Logistics Support Division of the
Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York, having passed the
National Competitive Examination for recruitment into the United Nations
system. I am married to a British national and have three children. |

| | Born in South Korea, I was exposed to international arena
from a young age. I spent my childhood in several countries, including
Libya, Korea, and Singapore. Having completed my education in Singapore, I
embarked on an architectural career both there and in Korea, but also had
exposure to different fields, including: conference management, translation,
teaching and research analysis. My passion for traveling and appreciating
different cultures led me to the United Nations via the National Competitive
Examination. Through my short career thus far in peacekeeping operations, I
have a renewed conviction for working towards the promotion of global peace
and security. The job poses challenges, but also offers immense satisfaction
and pride. One daily challenge is balancing work priorities and family
issues, as I am a working mother with two young children. |

Stanislava Smon, Slovenia

| | I was born in Slovenia (former Yugoslavia), where I
completed a degree in Air Transportation, specializing in Air Traffic
Services and obtained an Air Traffic Controller License. Committed to
continuous learning, I earned a masters degree (MBA – Aviation) from Danube
University in Austria, specializing in three domains: Airlines, Airports and
Air Traffic Management/Civil Aviation Authority. I have more than 20 years
of progressively responsible experience in civil aviation, including at the
managerial level, and was on ICAO/Technical Bureau for Cooperation roster of
experts for Civil Aviation Administration Organization. I have been working
for the Department of Peacekeeping Operations at UN Headquarters in New York
since July 2004. I am married and have a daughter who is full-time student
at New York University. |
