| | I am currently employed at UN Headquarters as an Information Systems Officer with Communications and Information Technology Service (CITS). Prior to my current post, I was employed with United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Burundi (ONUB) as a LAN/WAN Technician for Information and Communications Technology section, and prior to that I was working for United Nations Development Programme, as a Senior Systems Analyst for ICT4D department, on the Legislation Database Project.
I have been working in the field of Information Technologies for more than four years as an Information Technologies Operations Manager in World Vision International (2003-2005) and Eurocom (2001-2003). I hold a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, department for Computer and Information Sciences, obtained from the University in Sarajevo and I am currently completing my master’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies. Moreover, I have completed various courses, trainings and seminars related to Information Technologies and Management, and presented my work at various conferences and workshops. I am a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina Information Technologies Society. |

| | I joined the World Food Programme (WFP) at the Rome Headquarters after many years working for commercial cargo airlines, as a logistics officer in charge of air operations. After two years in Rome, I served one year in Lokichoggio, Kenya, organizing relief flights for the Office of Logistics Support (OLS) and Operation Lifeline Sudan, as well as acting as Relief Coordinator for WFP in Addis Ababa. I joined the Department of Peacekeeping Operations in 1996 and served 2 ½ years in Bosnia (UNMIBH) as a Movement Control officer, eventually becoming Chief of the unit. Another 2 years as Chief of the Movement Control Units (MCU) in Kosovo (UNMIK) and East Timor (UNTAET). After a break in service to return to school for my Master’s Degree, I served 6 months in Liberia. I joined the MCU at UN Headquarters in November 2004, with responsibility for the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) and United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (ONUCI). |

| | I have been seconded from the Hungarian Government to the Medical Support Section (MSS) of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) as a military professional for a period of two years, beginning in January 2006. As a Medical Support Officer I advise MSS and my Desk Missions’ medical staff in all medical and dental related issues, providing pre-assessments and follow-ups of the local military and non-military medical facilities, hospitals and pharmacies. I am responsible also for supplying drugs, consumables, and vaccines for my field missions. I am the facilitator of the Medical Support Forum intranet and the DPKO Web-site Medical portal.
Prior to my current post I worked as the Force Medical Officer at the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). In this role, I set up and ran a new equipment maintenance and calibration system and upgraded the medical supply system to become more reliable and more efficient, leading to the reduction of costly stockpiling and thus sparing
additional funds.I began my career in the Hungarian Army in 1992 as a General Practitioner, where I performed day-to-day clinic duties, including conducting pre-employment and periodic medical examinations, as well as medical clearances. During my military service, I was also in charge of quality control of the emergency facilities including the preparation of the MEDEVAC-plans and the immediate response to emergencies. I was also the senior instructor for health education, first aid and emergency training. As a Specialist of Occupational Health and Medicine (from 2000), I managed Occupational and Environmental Health related issues, including overall Hygiene-control.
As Hungary’s Representative to NATO I participated in the revision and
development of the new NATO Dental Standards, and I successfully managed these standards for ratification and implementation in the Hungarian Army.
I hold a Masters Degree from Occupational Health and Medicine and Dental Diseases. |
